Indian Military Veterans
While government is said to be giving final shape to One Rank One Pension implementation, media reports say Govt is considering to make Military Pension as a separate category in order to differentiate from other pensions.
Considering the factors such as risk to life and round the clock work nature, Government is contemplating such a move the report says.
Implementation of One Rank One Pension involves additional cost of Rs. 8000 Crores and it would stand to benefit almost 20 lakh Ex-Servicemen
OROP is a long pending demand of Ex-servicemen to ensure uniform pension is paid to defence personnel who retire at the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement.
