A VERY SUCCESSFUL REFERENDUM RALLY AT JANTAR MANTAR NEW DELHI

Dear Indian Military Veterans and Veer Naris,

Jai Hind.

In spite of repeated dirty tricks being played by many “Jai Chands” and “A Maha Jai Chand”, most probably with strong backup by some political powers, the ESM and Veer Naris continue to show full confidence in the leadership of UFESM Jantar Mantar.

During the Referendum held at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, on Sunday, 03 Apr 2016, there was unanimous demand to continue with the agitation at Jantar Mantar with even greater Josh.

Everyone present felt that we must not accept diluted OROP; everyone present had very little hope about a favourable outcome from the One Man Committee appointed by the Government, which is a typical game played by Babus to sabotage the process, and to which the politicians have agreed.

Great majority of Indian Armed Forces Veterans and Veer Naris have lost faith in the words of our respected RM, who had sounded so positive on 01 Feb 2015, about granting OROP as per the accepted definition, announced twice in the Parliament by two successive governments.

The RM, who on his own initiative had given a target date for implementation of OROP, July 2015, has now gone back on his words. 
Is it befitting of such a senior Member of the Cabinet of the Government of India.

On 01 Feb 2015, the RM had made very categorical statement that he had made very detailed personal check of the of OROP tables and financial figures there in, in consultations with the Services HQs and the Min of Finance and has arrive at the figure of Rs 8,300 crore; the figure had been agreed by all concerned. 
He further said that sufficient funds were already available for implementation of OROP.

On 1^st Feb 2015, in the presence of 27 Indian Armed Forces Veterans and Veer Naris, lead by Maj Gen Satbir Singh, Chairman IESM, the RM made all the above mentioned statements.

He also said that – “I have told all concerned that this is Military Pension and that no other service can be compared with it”.

The COAS, who was present during the  meeting, is a witness to the above.

I, Brig CS Kamboj, was one of the 27 veterans present when RM made the above statements on 01 Feb 2015, at Kotah House New Delhi.
(Those  days the RM was  living in The Kotah House, The Naval Mess at Shah Jahan Road, New Delhi.)

It is important for you to know that the above  meeting was called by The RM on his own initiative for reasons explained in the succeeding paras.

After the Modi Government had had more than enough time to issue the Government letter for grant of OROP as promised, a major ESM Rally had been called by IESM on 01 Feb 2015 to highlight the failure of the Government to issue the Govt orders for grant of OROP.

In view of the then forthcoming elections of Delhi State, BJP did not want that there be any agitation against the Modi Government.

The RM asked the COAS to advise Gen Satbir to call off the agitation. 
When COAS approached Gen Satbir, Satbir replied -

“Sir let the Government give a public statement that they will grant OROP by so and so date, we will convert this rally from an agitation to a ‘Thanks Giving Rally’”.

After repeated calls between the RM and COAS, COAS and Gen Satbir, – on 31 Jan evening, RM directly spoke to Gen Satbir and told him that due to Delhi elections having been announced he could not make a open public statement. He, therefore, on his own, suggested that Gen Satbir, accompanied with some ESM, can come to Kotah House at 1100 hrs, on 01 Feb 2015. In presence of the ESM he would make a public statement that OROP would be granted  as per the approved definition. 
During the meeting on 01 Feb the RM then said what has been stated in the above paras.

Gen Satbir like a true soldier, after the meeting at Kotah House, when he arrived at Jantar Mantar, where the Rally was on, he announced what RM had promised a short while ago.
Everyone trusted what Gen Satbir announced. The rally thanked the Government for its firm commitment (which has not been fulfilled till date as per the promise made).

Not only going back on his words, The RM has termed the most peaceful and highly disciplined agitation by Indian Armed  Forces Veterans and Veer Naris as “holding gun on his head”.

If this holding gun on Government’s head than what was it that happened in Haryana and Rajasthan???

Probably the Indian politicians understand only the type of agitation which was held recently in Haryana or twice in Rajasthan earlier.

Of course, we the former soldiers, who love India from the core of our heart and can sacrifice  our life for India to protect it from all sorts of troubles, will never resort to such agitation which will cause inconvenience to our countrymen or cause any damage to nation’s property or spoil international image of India.

But we have unlimited capacity and stamina to fight peacefully against injustice and defeat dirty designs of the Babus supported by politicians, who are clueless about the nature of the duties of Armed Forces and the sacrifices we have been making for the safety and honour of India and all its citizens.

No doubt the Indian  Police forces are doing their share of duties to the best of their abilities, but we see every day that when things are serious in nature and when danger to life is very high and certain, when more organised, better trained and highly motivated force is required to handle calamity, it is Indian Armed  Forces that are called to restore law and order to save human life and Government property. 

Even then these clueless politicians (on the advice of Babus) compare the Indian Armed forces with central police forces.

A report on the Referendum Rally held on Sunday, 03 Apr 2016, at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi is appended below.

The Doyen of OROP, Lt Col Inderjit Singh, Chairman All India Ex-Services Welfare Association, in spite of his very ill health, was present at the Rally in his wheelchair.

Col Inderjit has been struggling for OROP for almost four decades – during these four decades, many PM and RMs promised OROP to him but then betrayed him under the pressure of Babus.

We all Indian Armed Forces Veterans and Veer Naris must whole heartedly support the UFESM Jantar Mantar.

If we continued  to stand united – the Government will have to yield.
