SPARSH wants your name to be same in four documents viz Aadhar, PAN, PPO and Bank Passbook.

Dear Esteemed Members,
1.    We all will be migrated to SPARSH even against our opposition to it  by end of Dec 2022. Already 6 lakh post 2016 pensioners and 11 lakh Pre - 2016 pensioners (as early retirees of 1997) have been migrated to SPARSH.
2.    The SPARSH wants your name to be same in four documents viz Aadhar, PAN, PPO and Bank Passbook.
3.    It is generally seen the name of pensioner in PPO is abbreviated to show only surname. First and middle name are abbreviated. Lt Gen SB Akali, one of our esteemed members, informed that his Aadhar and PAN card show his name as Surendra Bir Akali whereas his PPO shows an abbreviated name as SB Akali. Even my own name in Aadhar and PAN card are Chintamani Sivasankar Vidyasagar where as my PPO and E-PPO and bank passbook show only as CS Vidyasagar. Banks take name as given in PPO even if you have entered your full name at the time of getting bank account before your retirement.
4.   In such cases there is mismatch in name between the Aadhar (full name ) and PPO(abbreviated name). Like Lt Gen SB Akali correctly says in the Pre - Aadhar, the software of PCDA (Pensions) Allahabad might have only provision to have abbreviated name. Therefore as a policy, they abbreviated our names in PPOs/EPPOs.
5.   Can anyone of you already migrated to SPARSH tell us if your name in PPO and Aadhar& PAN is same or your name in PPO is abbreviated showing only your surname whereas Aadhar and PAN card have full name with no abbreviations? If you are getting pension from SPARSH with any mismatch in the name in PPO and Aadhar then we need not worry.
warm regards,
KS Ramaswamy (Retd)
