Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (November 25, 2025) ceremonially hoisted the saffron flag — Dharma Dhwaj — at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, signifying the completion of the Ram Temple’s construction.
Mr. Modi hoisted the right-angled triangular saffron flag, 10 feet high and 20 feet long, bearing the image of a radiant Sun symbolising Lord Ram’s valour, an ‘Om’, and the Kovidara tree. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak (chief) Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth were also present.
“Today, the city of Ayodhya is witnessing another tipping point in India’s cultural consciousness. This moment of flag hoisting, celebrating the pinnacle of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, is unique and ethereal. Siyawar Ramchandra ki Jai,” said Mr. Modi, addressing the gathering.
The grand temple of Lord Shri Ram is a symbol of faith, respect and self-pride of 140 crore Indians. Today’s auspicious day is dedicated to the unending struggle of the revered saints, warriors and devotees of Shri Ram, who dedicated their lives to the movement and struggle. The divine coincidence of Vivah Panchami is making this festival even more holy,” said Mr. Adityanath.
Mr. Adityanath added that flag hoisting is a proclamation of the truth that the light of religion is immortal and the values of Ram Rajya are timeless.
The saffron flag hoisted at Shri Ram Mandir is also a symbol of religion, dignity, truth, justice and national religion. It is a symbol of the concept of a developed India. We are witnessing a New India, where there is a perfect synergy of development and heritage. This is giving it new heights,” said Mr. Adityanath.
