Marshal of the Indian Air Force Visits NCC Republic Day Camp Meets Cadets


Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh visited the NCC Republic Day Camp 2012 at Garrison Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt today. On arrival, he was received by the Director General, NCC, Lt Gen PS Bhalla. Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh has the distinction of being the only five star rank officer in the IAF.

Addressing the Cadets, Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh advised them to always work hard. He said, “Hard work is never forgotten, it always pays dividends. India is on the move today primarily because of its youth”. Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh advised the cadets never to use unfair means and to never hesitate in competing even with one’s best friend. He also lauded the efforts of the National Cadet Corps, the largest uniformed organisation, in grooming the youth of the country and its contribution towards nation building. He added that the Corps has made notable contribution in promoting secularism and National Integration.

Earlier, a contingent of smartly turned out NCC cadets drawn from all the three wings namely Army, Navy and Air Force, presented a Guard of Honour to the Marshal of the Indian Air Force on his arrival at the NCC camp. This was followed by a performance of Lazium folk dance and Scindia School Band display. The Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh there after visited the Flag Area where he listened to the young Cadets briefing him about their respective States. He also witnessed an enthralling Cultural Programme presented by the enthusiastic Cadets in the NCC auditorium.

Around 2,000 Cadets, both boys and girls drawn from 17 NCC Directorates covering all the States and Union Territories of the country, are participating in this RD Camp. The cadets will take part in a number of activities like Cultural, National Integration, Awareness and Institutional Training competitions during the nearly month long Republic Day Camp.
