(c) whether the Government proposes to fill up these vacant posts; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT (DR. SHASHI THAROOR)
As on 01.01.2014, out of 42374 sanctioned posts, only 8948 posts of teachers are lying vacant in the Kendriya Vidyalayas all over the country. These are being filled expeditiously. Some positions of teachers are always vacant due to the time-lag between the occurrence of vacancy and recruitment. The recruitment process for the vacanciesof the year 2011-12 has been completed and Post Graduate Teachers and Trained Graduate Teachers (Misc) have already been posted. However, 838 vacancies of the year 2011-12 of Primary Teachers and Trained GraduateTeachers could not be filled up, as the process of the operation of the selection panel is sub judice. The process for recruitment against vacancies of different categories of teachers for the year 2012-13 & 2013-14 had already begun and the examination for all teaching posts was conducted from 14th December, 2013 to 16th December, 2013 all over the country.
