Making SSC More Attractive

Indian Military Veterans

Government has taken several measures to make Short Service Commission (SSC) attractive.  These include extending time based promotion to the substantive rank of Captain, Major and Lieutenant Colonel after 2, 6 and 13 years of reckonable service respectively to SSC Officers, increase in tenure of SSC officers from 10 years to 14 years, and implementation of the VI Central Pay Commission with substantial improvement in the pay structure and other allowances of Armed Forces.  Additional proposals for making SSC more attractive have been taken up for inter-departmental consultations.

Details of SSC Officers commissioned and left during last five years and the current year are as under:
