MODEL CALCULATION OF ARREARS FOR FAMILY PENSIONERS –CIR 547

We all know that many Family pensioners have not received their Pension arrears as per CDA Cir-547. May be the reason  the banks are not having the DATAs like Rank, Group and length of the deceased.

But  , now they are paying pension at some Rate as per CDA cir 502 and 503  under some DATAs.  They can take that DATAs.

Other wise, they can call the Families to bring their pension documents for arriving the DATAs.  How long  will they keep pending for want of particulars.  They could obtain the DATAs from   PSA by raising Annexures as per circulars, that is also not followed.

These are the reasons for Delay-  

NOTE:  

 The widows of Sepoy to Hony.Nb Sub, Group  B to  H   are NOT eligible for this arrears.

Only Group A –Sep to Hony.Nb.Sub  - families  are eligible for arrears.

 Families of Rank Nb.Sub and above-  all the group are eligible.

NOW  A MODEL CALCULATION  FOR DIFFERENT PERIODS. 

Take a Rank of Nb.Sub-   Group- B     Qualifying service: 26 yrs.

Say  Mr. Black      Rank: Nb.Sub.     Group_ B   QS: 26 yrs.  Discharged before 1996.

He died  in   2004.    In this case, the Widow , say Smt.White  is drawing her family  pension as on 1-1-2006.

HERE, she is eligible for arrears for the period from 1-1-2006  to  24-9-2012.   Full period.

Her Basic pension  as on 1-1-2006 as per CDA circular  397 was……..4650.00

Now as per Cir 547…………………………………………….it is……4998.00

                                    The increase/ difference  per month………………348.00 ---(1)

Arrears in this case will be= diff X MF ( Multiplying factor) = 348 X103.65=36070…

This is the amount of arrears to be paid to the widow of a Nb.Sub, Group- B.

CASE No 2.  PENSIONER DIED  AFTER 1-1-2006.

Say the Mr.Black  died on 31-4-2009.   and smt.White  will get arrears as under.

The Basic pension of Mr.Black was  as per CDA cir  397/430-  7486.00

                                                              As per cir 547…………  7826.00

                                              Difference / increase  per month    340.00

The arrears   = Difference  X MF=     340 X 44.25= 15045……….( 1)

Then from 1-5-2009  to 24-9-2012  the calculation:

Family pension  as per 397………4650.00

Family penion as per    547………4998.00.

         Difference/ increase ………..  348.00 per month.

Arrears from 1-5-2009 to 24-9-2012  works out to be = 20052.00..(2)

Now the eligible arrears for the widow is    (1) +  (2)= 15045+20052=35097.

Here, (1 ) , the amount of 15045 will be paid as LTA , Life Time Arrears  and  (2) will be paid as pension arrears.

CASE- 3 :  PENSIONER DIED AFTER 30-9-2009.

          The Family will get the arrears of pensioner  from 1-1-2006 to

 30-9-2009  =340 X 46.02=15845.   as LTA  and

From 1-7-2009  to 24-9-2012  she will get arrears – Difference between 4998- 4650 =348 + DA  as pension arrears.

This is how  the Arrears for Families may be calculated. 

This Illustration may be taken as a Model calculation .

Banks may follow this  method if required  for speeding up the calculation .

Dear veteran brothers, 

please approach the bank branches  and request them to disburse the pension at least to the aged family pensioners immediately before they kick the bucket.
