Purpose of this website

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Appeal of Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare to donate minimum of Rs.200/- to Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF).

The undersigned is directed to forward herewith a copy of D.O. letter No. 7(3)2022- D(Res.II) dated o5th September, 2022, received from Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, the contents of which are self explantory.

2. It is requested that the appeal made by the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare may be brought to the notice of the DDOs and all the employees working in respective Ministry/ Department including the Attached/ Subordinates offices and other organizations for necessary action.

The Armed Forces Flag Day (AFFD) #& observed on 7 December every year to honour Battle Casualties and men in uniform who fought bravely not only to protect the borders of our nation but also fight terrorism and insurgency. On this day, donations are collected from the general public for AFFDF which are used for the welfare and rehabilitation of war widows, dependents of the Battle Casualties and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) including the disabled. An appeal issued by Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence requesting for contributions to AFFDF in solidarity with our soldiers and their Next of Kins (NoKs)/dependents as is forwarded herewith.

2. DoPT is requested to kindly solicit the cooperation of the staff/officers of all Ministries/Departments to voluntarily donate a minimum amount of Rs. 200/- out of their Salaries for the month of Nov, 2022 so that the amount so collected is available before the Flag Day. The contributions may please be sent by 2 Dec.2022, to Secretary, Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, West Block 4, Wing 7, R.K. Puram, New Delhi-110066.
