A group of Majors / Lt Cdrs / Sqn Ldrs filed a case in AFT Kochi

Dear Sir,
A group of Majors / Lt Cdrs / Sqn Ldrs filed a case in AFT Kochi seeking different pensions for different length of service. As you know the CGDA fixed same pension of all Majors whether they are 22 years of service or 33 years of service ₹ Rs 23,815 pm.
But, the CGDA cleverly reduced pension by 3% per year if the junior is not retired but senior retired in calendar year 2013. Only one Maj with 22 years' service retired in calendar year 2013. The pension of ₹ 23, 815 pm  was for Majors with service of 22 years or 33 years.
The Min of Def simply replied to Hon'ble Supreme Courty that the case lies with Anomalies committee of Joint Secretaries of PMO, Min of Def (ESW) and Min of Fin which has been laying eggs since 26 Sep 2016. The joint committee of three JSs appear to have put the report of Justice L Narasimha Reddy in the waste paper basket.
Now the Hon'ble Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal of Min of Def and directed Govt of India to take a decision on anomalies committee report within four months from date of judgment.
Good news.
But I am sure it will benefit Majors /Lt Cdrs / Sqn Ldrs only before general elections of 2024 as Govt of India is quite clever to keep telling Hon'ble Surpeme Court the anomalies recommended by Justice L Narasimha Reddy are very complex and Govt of India needs more time till Apr 2024.
The judgment of Hon'ble Supreme Court is attached.
warm regards,
Brig CS Vidyasagar (Retd)
