Large movement demanding continued pension payments equal to those of veterans and their families

There has been a long-standing debate among pensioners about why the general family pension is  reduced to 60% of the old-age pension when the pensioner dies. Some veterans have gone to the trouble of writing letters to military headquarters and the Ministry of Defense, demanding the same pensions that pensioners received during their lifetimes, but to  no avail.

Good news for the environment. Some veterans and family pensioners have decided to knock on the doors of the honorable Supreme Court and have gone through difficult procedures to qualify for PIL filings for family pensioners.

There is. Family Pensioners Welfare Samiti (FPWS) is currently a registered society with Meerut Registrar of Societies. The Samiti is based at NOIDA and is headed by Brigadier Satish C Kutiala (retd), Aarti. The association has a total of seven members, including Brigadier Narinder Dhan and the association secretary, Ms. Shashi Singh. As a registered society, they have obtained a PAN card and have a proper bank account with SBI.

The purpose of this association is the  welfare of retiree families, with special emphasis on jawans who retired at a young age. After six months of hard work, veterans were able to submit an application to the  Supreme Court  to ensure that when converting pensioners' old-age pensions into family pensions, they would receive the same amount instead of reducing it to 60%. asked the court to do so. Must be maintained throughout life. The PIL came up for hearing in the CJI court on April 29, 2024. It is encouraging that this petition has been accepted by the  Supreme Court of India.

The relevant court order dated 4/29/24 is available here in PDF format. This association is intensively supported by his TSEWA and IESM. Therefore, members are deeply grateful to the veterans who have supported them and made it possible for them to submit their petitions. The association's members, including all veterans' families and ESM pensioners, hope for a positive outcome.

This case is currently being heard in the Supreme Court. So let's pray  for a good verdict when the time comes. Association members said veterans can contact them via email at mgr.grps@gmail.com.

They will soon publish a special web post to update the public on the progress of the case.
