Let us know  about the DSC service, Qualifying service and pension with merger of previous service

The maximum period of qualifying service for calculating a full service pension for Personnel Below Officer Rank (PBOR) like a Sepoy in the Indian Army and Defence Security Corps (DSC) is 28 years (under pre-2006/OROP guidelines, full pension was mapped up to 33 years, but current standard reckonable maximum for full/optimal percentage calculation for JCO/OR is attained at 28+ years for 100% full pension without further scaling). Key Pension & Service Periods for Sepoys in DSC:

Minimum Qualifying Service (Standalone DSC): 15 years of actual service rendered in the DSC is required to earn a separate/second service pension, independent of your regular former Army service. [1]

Condonation of Shortfall: Under Army Pension Regulations (Rule 125 / Rule 44), a shortfall of up to 1 year (12 months) in qualifying service can be condoned by competent authorities, meaning a Sepoy can qualify for the second pension with effectively 14 years (or 13 years and 9 months with rounding) of actual DSC service. Option of Combined Service: Instead of a second separate pension, a soldier can opt to count/merge their former regular military service with their DSC service to treat it as one continuous stretch, though opting for a separate second pension after 15 years in DSC is standard and legally upheld. Maximum Cap / Full Pension: Longer service yields proportional increments up to the maximum ceiling cap, where 28 years of total reckonable service provides the maximum full-rate service element computation for PBOR. [1]

Territorial Army service  (TA)also can be counted towards DSC total service if you opt to forfeit previous pension benefits and merge the past service with DSC service.
