*IMPORTANT FOR ALL DEFENCE PENSIONERS - SBI DATA LEAK ALERT*
What Happened?
On 21st Oct, SBI confirmed that details of 3,897 customers (mobile, name, DOB, address etc.) were found on the Dark Web. The bank says pension & accounts are safe, but investigation is on.

WHY WE MUST BE EXTRA CAREFUL?
Because our data like phone number and address is now with fraudsters, they can call us by our real name, rank and branch to make us believe.
STAY EXTRA ALERT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

1.Fraud Call Trick:
They will say: "Sir, I am from SBI CPPC / SPARSH / Defence Cyber Agency. Your pension will be stopped. Please share the OTP to verify."
TRUTH: SBI & SPARSH NEVER ask OTP, password or CVV on phone. Just CUT the call.

2.Fraud Link Trick:
You may get an SMS like: "Your SBI account is blocked, click here sbisecure link com to update KYC"
TRUTH: NEVER click. SBI never sends such links. If in doubt, go to the branch directly.

3.Don't Share Documents:
Never share photo of PPO, Aadhaar, PAN, Passbook, CIF number on WhatsApp or to any "helpful" person calling you. Even if he knows your Service No.

4.Secure Your Money:
• Change your YONO / Internet Banking password once • Keep SMS alert ON for every debit/credit • Check your account every 2-3 days for any small unknown deduction

5.What to do if you get such a call?
• Don't talk, don't argue. Just disconnect. • Call your own SBI home branch number (not the number fraudster gave)• Report immediately to Helpline 1930 and www.cybercrime.gov.in

No need to panic. Just be alert for next 2-3 months.

Please explain this to our senior veterans who don't use smartphones much.
