Purpose of this website


             Pensioners of the Armed Forces  are different from  pensioners of  other departments of the Government of India. Some rules and regulations apply to public services. In order to sensitize them about the various rules, regulations, government programs related to ex-servicemen and the various social assistance programs for families of ex-servicemen, we refer to the government instructions on this subject. , published information on related topics. Here, we will discuss SPARSH, CSD, ECHS, OROP, family pension, disability pension, Service pension, re-employment with life certificate and other welfare activities  to increase the awareness of beneficiaries.

CLOSURE OF ECHS MEMBERSHIP


1. ECHS is a com pulsory scheme for new re tirees.  It was optional for pre-01 Apr 2003retirees.The scheme was kept open for five years, viz, till 31 Mar 2008 to enable desirous preretirees to take m embership.  The scheme was to close for pre-retirees wef 01 Apr 2008, however as a welfare measure, the decision to close the scheme was deferred.

2. It has been now decided that the schem e will be closed f or pre-retirees from 01 Dec 2011.  All Comd HQs/Regional Centres/Fm n HQs/Stn HQs are requested to give this wide publicity.  It m ay be noted that schem e may be opened for short du ration in 2012 dependingupon the requests received for membership.

    The above rule is applicable for veterans who are not employed in any Govt Service/Public Sector Undertakings. For those Veterans who are employed in Govt Service/Public Sector undertakings, they can join the scheme after retirement from second career/service.This has been clarified by Central Organization,ECHS vide letter no.B/49711/AG/ECHS dated 18 Oct 2011.
