Seventh Pay Commission Should Be Appointed Soon : AIDEF

The seventh pay commission should be appointed soon
The union also demanded that 50 per cent of DA should be merged with the basic pay

The Cochin Naval Base Civilian Workers Union has approached the Union Cabinet secretary demanding that the seventh pay commission should be appointed soon. In a memorandum submitted to the Cabinet secretary through the chief of Southern Naval Command, the union also demanded that 50 per cent of DA should be merged with the basic pay.

The memorandum was submitted based on a decision taken during the national convention of the All India Defence Employees Federation (AIDEF) in Pune.

Clearing anomalies in the 6th pay commission, appointing seventh pay commission withdrawing the renewed pension scheme and PFRDA bill, raising the bonus limit, removing the unscientific clauses in appointment of dependents, excluding children’s education allowance from income tax and implementing cash-less treatment scheme for all employees are some of the demands raised by the union in its memorandum.
