World War II veteran
Special benefits can be paid to certain World War II veterans. These include veterans who served in the active war. The special veterans benefits are payable for months in which qualified veterans live in India.
The World War II veterans are very old aged and limited persons are left in these days. The veterans were do their hard work in those days. They will not get any pension or Financial benifits from central Government till date.
Tamilnadu Government is helping to them, as a financial benifits @ Rs 1000/- pm for Veterans & Rs 700/- for widows. This amount not enough to pull the daily routine of their life, due to the cost of living is very high.
In this connection ARMED FORCES TRIBUNAL, REGIONAL BENCH, KOCHI gave a judgement that "The Union of India shall consider whether some financial assistance so as to enable them to lead
a respectable life can be afforded to them." (O.A.No.16 of 2010)
For the above fact, the Central/State Governments is look in to the matter seriously and give some extend of financial help to the old aged World War II Veterans.
All Ex Servicemen Associations are requested to give their hands to the old aged veterans for getting the financial help from central/state Governments.
