Purpose of this website

President Confers Gallantry and Distinguished Service Awards
The President and Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces Shri Pranab Mukherjee conferred fourteen Shaurya Chakras to Armed Forces Personnel for displaying conspicuous gallantry, indomitable courage and extreme devotion to duty at a solemn ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhawan here today. Out of fourteen, three Shaurya Chakras were awarded posthumously. The atmosphere in Darbar Hall of Rastrapati Bhavan were poignant and filled with emotions when the President posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakras to the wives of these three defence personnel.
The President also conferred eighteen Param Vishisht Seva Medals, two Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, two Bar to Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and seventeen Ati Vishisht Seva Medals to senior officers of the Armed Forces for distinguished service of an exceptional order.
