Bank Strike on 24th June 2015

All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) is planning to go on a strike on Wednesday, in support of the demands of State Sector Bank Employees’ Association and pertaining to the employees of the Associate Banks of State Bank of India (SBI).

C H Venkatachalam, general secretary, AIBEA stated in the two rounds of conciliation meeting this month, held by the chief labour commissioner (CLC) in New Delhi, the Union explained in detail the issues and demands involved.

"Unfortunately, due to the negative and unwilling approach of the management, there is no possibility of finding a mutually acceptable solution," he alleged, in his letter to the CLC.
"We regret that the management of SBI is unwilling to heed to the advice of the CLC or implement the decision agreed upon during the conciliation meeting," he said.
As regards this basic issue of allowing duly elected leaders of the union to negotiate with the management, the Union submitted that this stand of the management is violative of Indian Trade Unions Act, 1926 and Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 and hence grossly illegal besides being an act of unfair labour practice.
