Office Memorandum

Subject:-    Regarding marking of PPO number in the bank passbook of Pensioner/ family Pensioners

This office has been receiving various applications from Central Civil Pensioners/ Family Pensioners and Registered Welfare Organizations related to pension problems like how to get duplicate PPO in case of missing of original PPO, commencement of family pension to spouse or dependent children after the death of pensioner, transfer of pension account from one bank/ branch to another bank/ branch. But above complaints are not attended immediately by banks because their bank pass books do not have PPO numbers. To obviate this situation it would be better if the PPO number is marked in the passbook.

Therefore, Heads of all CPPCs and Government Business Departments are advised to instruct all their bank branches dealing with pension payments to record the PPO numbers in all the passbook of the Pensioners/ Family pensioners issued by them.
