Modi Wants Integration of all Land Records with Aadhaar

A government statement said that the PM asked for this while examining the progress of the digitisation of land records.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked for integration of all land records with Aadhaar at the earliest, emphasising at his monthly PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance And Timely Implementation) meeting on Wednesday that this is extremely important to monitor the successful implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana or crop insurance scheme.

A government statement said that the PM asked for this while examining the progress of the digitisation of land records, a mission mode project under Digital India programme. A bill passed in Parliament recently has made Aadhaar mandatory for residents to avail themselves of any public services. A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said Modi also reviewed the progress of provision of citizen-centric services electronically and called for a comprehensive district-wise review across India of how many services are actually being delivered online. In addition, the PM reviewed the progress towards handling and resolution of public grievances and urged the officers to further speed up the pace of work in this regard.
“The PM emphasised that grievance redressal is one of the biggest aspects of democracy. He called for focused action within the next one month, to ensure that barring exceptions, grievances are disposed of within 60 days. He reiterated his directive for top officers to intervene in this matter,” the statement from PMO said. Reviewing the measures aimed at enhancing ease of doing business, Modi said there was healthy progress among states for investment and called for further concerted efforts to build on the momentum to create a positive perception, a statement said. Modi also reviewed the progress of vital infrastructure projects in the roads, railways, power and oil sectors spread over several states including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand, the PMO said.
