Dear Ladies & Gentlemen,
1. I am receiving too many calls, SMSs, e-mails, posts in Facebook & Whatsapp about eligibility of arrears of JCOs, OR and Family Pensioners from Jan 2006 to Jun 2009. I want to clarify this issue of eligibility as some are nursing fond hopes that when others are getting why not I
2. Circular 397 lays down the pension of all pre – 2006 JCOs, OR and Family Pensioners as on Jan 2006. This has been revised by Circular 547 in pursuance of judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court which ruled pension should be = 50% (minimum pay in band + grade pay + MSP).
3. The arrears arise only when pension as on Jan 2006 as per Circular 547 is higher than Circular 397. Let us see the these two tables.

4. Family Pensioners of Sepoy to Havildar of Y Group also do NOT get any arrears as their pension in Circular 547 and Circular 397 is Rs 3500.
5. All those who are approaching me to kindly check up their pension both in Circular 397 / 430 and in Circular 547 and must satisfy that they will get pension arrears from Jan 2006 to Jun 2009 only when pension in Circular 547 is higher than in the Circular 397/430 as on Jan 2006.
