The Most Horrible Experience of Lt Col Vivek Bala, Life.

The Most Horrible Experience of Lt Col Vivek Bala, Life.

Sir,

With Respect to all the Veterans & Serving Officers & their family.
I,
Lt Col Vivek Bala, 38ier wants to humbly submit what i underwent in the Hands of AMC Surgeons

*Pls take out time & Read this*

The Most Horrible Experience of my Life.

*For Caution all veterans, serving & their families*

At present, am performing the duty of AQMG at Alwar Rajasthan.

*Poor Diagnosis*
1. In the month of Aug, i had terrible stomachache.
I reported to MI Room.
They gave me PCM & told 2 days SIQ.

2. After 2 days, the pain didn't subside. Told to report MH, Alwar. Again this time Voveran Injection & 2 days SIQ.

3. Pain became excruciating.
Approached a civ doc, he imdtly suggested for Abdomen Scan. Diagnosed with multiple stones in the Gall Bladder.
*Treatment*
1. A simple Laproscopy Surgery to be performed to remove Gall Bladder stones.

2. MH Alwar didn't have Surgeon or Anaesthesia Specialist.

3. My Cdr & Dy got worried and they suggested to take CL and get this simple surgery performed at MH Chennai. As MH Jaipur didn't have trained Laproscopy Surgeon. Only availability was Base Hospital however, Earliest Surgery Dt available was 29 Oct.

4. After trusting the conversation between my Cdr & MH Chennai Commandant. I flew down to get operated.

*Completely Botched up Surgery*
1. I got admitted on 31st of Aug, got operated on 01 Sep.

2. During this Laproscopy Surgery, the surgeon had to perforate the Cystic Duct which connects the Gall Bladder to Central Bile Duct. In my case, he perforated the Central Bile Duct cutting off Supply of Bile to the Intestines. A medical Surgical Blunder.

3. The very next day after my surgery i complained of extreme pain the Abdomen. I was just given PCM in IV form.

4. From 03 Sep to 06 Sep, my condition deteriorated and my stomach bloated to 3 times normal size.
I became immobile & was continuously crying in pain, they administered sleep inducing IV.

5. On 07th, i started crying out of pain. The radiologist intervened, did a scan to find out close to 5 ltrs of Bile accumulation inside the Abdomen, he imdtly said, it's a DIL condition. He imdtly placed a Pigtail Catheter along with a drain pipe. Within 15 Mins 3.2 Ltrs of Bile Acid was drained out. I was brought out of life threatening condition by Lt Col Madan, Radiologist.

6. However, for all these days i wasn't given a glass of water. Only kept on IV, Bile Leakage inside Abdomen is a serious issue but this unprofessional Surgeon did not even realise this blunder. I kept asking him with only reply coming, am also not aware what is happening and he said, aberrant Anatomy but never told anything more than this.

7. On 10 Sep, i called my Schoolmate who's now an MD, Medicine.
He entered the ward and asked the Doctor, if the Bile Duct Injury had happened whether MRCP and ERCP Procedure had been conducted yet. A visibly troubled Surgeon got taken aback. He panicked.
Imdtly the next day, he send me for MRI to a Civ Scan Centre & i paid for the scan myself.

8. Before the receipt of Scan Report, the surgeon panicked, he came to me at 1 am & said, I'll be shifted forthwith to CHAF Bangalore on 13 Sep.

9. I was transported in a civ Ambulance with an Attender, with the condition of Ambulance being, not even IV Glucose can be given during movement.

10. I reached CHAF, Bangalore in a complete dehydrated state.
From 01 Sep to 13 Sep
I lost 12 (Previous Wt 74) to 62 Kgs. My Hb levels dropped from 14.1 before surgery to 8.9 i:e completely Anemic.
*MH Chennai just didn't Kill me rest they did everything they can*

*CHAF, Bangalore*
1. Imdt intervention by Medical Gastroenterologist, underwent MRCP.

2. 15 Sep underwent a ERCP under General anaesthesia. Just to find out that placing of Stent won't work out as the Upper Central Bile Duct had been completely canulated & if ERCP had been performed imdtly within 72 Hrs. Some
Corrective action could have been possible. Unfortunately, the Surgeon at Chennai didn't even knew this process. BTW, I was told about the botch up after 15 days of Surgery.

3. With Medical Gastroenterologist ruling out corrective action, i was now referred now to Surgical Gastroenterologist on 17th Sep.

4. He performed few tests and said, start having regular non fat or Oil Based Diet forthwith. Again a shock, as i asked why i was refused food in  MH Chennai, he visibly hit his hands on his forehead & said "kahaan kahaan se MBBS karke Fauj me PG Karne aatey hain"

5. My health started improving but being in Offrs Ward, there were others who kept coughing unfortunately my Bed was adjacent.
Instead of checking him, the MNS told to get RTPCR performed on me.
I ended up with COVID POSITIVE within the Offrs Ward.

6. They shifted me to COVID Isolation ward which as per me is worse than Cellular Jail. No natural Light, no doctors, no MNS. In fact, no clocks inside the ward & worst case no mobile signal inside the ward.

7. Being Asymptomatic throughout, still they followed their protocol of 7 days. I almost lost my mental balance. But just kept waiting to come out of that Sick place.
*Post CoVID*
1. 26 Sep,  they shifted me back to Offrs Ward. Kept me under observation for 2 days.

2. 29 Sep, they performed medical Bd & send me Sick Leave.

3. Imdtly on release from MH, CH after a month.
I lost 12 Kgs. 62 Kgs on discharge, Anemic & visibly broken. Me & my family decided not to ever go back to CH again.

4. Presently, after completion of Sick Leave & on the basis of Bile Leakage which naturally would stop, with me ending up with medically controlled Jaundice. A corrective surgery needs to be performed on me to return back to normalcy and to create the connection between Central Bile Duct to the Intestines so as to be in Normal condition.

5. We have decided to get this surgery done by most senior & expert doctor available outside. Have been now undergoing treatment from him in Sick Leave.

P.S
Do not ever you or your loved one's go under the knife with this AMC  untrained and unprofessional Surgeons ever.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The Surgeons who performed this Botched up Surgery is
Lt Col Vasu Nikunj
Lt Col Mahesh (oversaw the surgery) Never ever in ur life even approach these two Surgeons for treatment ever.

Presently am bedridden and just having my food & Rest
So 🤘💪
Gained 2Kgs & increased Hb levels by 2 Pts in 1 week. Just preparing my body to undergo the corrective surgery

My Own Personal Experience 🙏
It might save lives of your loved ones!

Regards & Respect to all the seniors.
