How to file an RTI in the military 


The Indian Army has set up a dedicated Right to Information (RTI) wing at Sena Bhawan in Delhi, to be overseen by the Additional Directorate General of Military Training (ADG MT – AE). This department is responsible for processing and providing information in response to all Army-related his RTI inquiries submitted to the Ministry of Defense. 

In addition to the central RTI cell, each formation and agency within the Army has appointed a public information officer (PIO) to facilitate the retrieval and dissemination of information sought through RTI. Anyone seeking information can  contact the relevant records office directly and submit a request to her designated PIO. B. PIO XYZ record. Information Rights Sersena Bhawan address is:

RTI: File Guide for the Indian Army 

To file an RTI with the Army, you need to follow these steps: 

1. Please make a formal application in the official language of the region and mark it as 'Application under RTI Act, 2005' as above. (Or click here to download the ready-made format) 

2. Requests should be directed to the Central Public Affairs Officer (CPIO) of the relevant department or unit or Army Records. Or simply his RTI cell address above in the Indian Army. 

3. Clarify your concerns in the form of specific, detailed questions. If appropriate, request documents or excerpts from documents. To get the documents you have to pay Rs. 2 sheets per page. (This can be paid initially by Indian postal order.) 

Four. If applicable, attach the RTI fee in the form of IPO/DD/MO etc. and pay it to the CPIO or Accounting Officer of the department or department. 

5. Enter your  name, address, contact details,  email address and sign the application. Declare that you are an Indian citizen.  

6. Send the application by mail or hand-delivery to  the department or unit CPIO or designated APIO (Public Affairs Assistant) and receive a receipt.

 7. Wait for a response within 30 days after CPIO receives your application. or If your department or department is registered on her RTI portal, you can also apply online through the RTI portal. Follow the  steps below to register an RTI on the RTI portal and get information from the Ministry of Defense. 

1. Visit the RTI online portal and click on 'Submit Inquiry'. 

2. Read the policy carefully and agree  by checking the box below. Then click Send. 

3. Select 'Ministry/Department/Supreme Authority' as the  authority and select 'Ministry of Defense' from the drop-down menu. Then click Select Permissions. Four. Select "Ministry of Military Affairs." 

5. Enter the required details such as  name, address, contact number, email address, and citizenship. Structure your RTI request in the form of specific, detailed questions. If appropriate, request documents or excerpts from documents. To get the documents you have to pay Rs. 2 sheets per page.  

6. Make a payment of Rs. 10% of the  fee will be paid through  available online modes like Internet Banking, Debit/Credit Card, UPI etc. After successful payment, you will receive a unique registration number. You can use this number to track the status of your RTI request. 

How to file a complaint on the CPGRAMS website

7. A response must be received within 30 days after CPIO or APIO receives the RTI request. If not, you can  appeal to the Ministry of Defense or Ministry of Military Affairs appellate authority through the same portal.

8. You should receive a response within 30 days from the date of receipt of the application by the CPIO or the APIO. If not, you can file an appeal to the Appellate Authority of the department or unit within 30 days from the expiry of the response period. If the Appellate Authority also fails to reply, you can file a second appeal to the Central Information Commission within 90 days from the expiry of the appeal period.
