Entrance Exam to Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun, July 2025 semester

1.
The RIMC entrance exam for admission of both boys and girls to class 8 for July 2025 semester will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at designated centres across the country. Candidates will be examined in the following subjects:-

Educational
qualifications. Candidates must be attending at the time of admission to RIMC. H. Must be in Grade 7 or have completed Grade 7 from a recognised school as on July 1, 2025.
Year.
Both boys and girls can apply for admission in RIMC, Dehradun. The candidates must be between 11% and 13 years of age as on 1 July 2025. H. He must not have been born before 2 July 2012 or after 1 January 2014. Applicants are informed that the college administration will no longer consider requests for change of date of birth from the date of birth originally provided.

Exam. The exam will be held on Sunday, 1 December 2024 on the following dates:

5. Oral Examination. The oral examination will be conducted only for those candidates who have passed the written examination. This list will be sent by RIMC to the respective state governments after approval by ARTRAC Headquarters. The date of the oral examination (mainly aimed at testing the intelligence, personality and communication skills of the candidates) will be announced later.

Wards of Central Civil Services may appear for the Examination and Oral Examination at their place of posting or residence, but their applications will be considered at their place of original residence. Hence, such candidates should submit their applications in the same state where they are appearing for the examination.

7.
Results. The results will be uploaded on the RIMC website www.rimc.gov.in. Candidates are responsible for checking the website regularly for the latest status. All selected candidates are required to register with RIMC within 10 days of receiving the joining instructions. Joining instructions will be sent to the email address provided by the candidate in the application form.

Prospectus, application form and old examination question booklets can be obtained from Rashtriya Indian Military College, Garhi Cantt, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, PIN-248003 through the following methods:

Online
payment. Prospectus and application form and booklets containing old examination questions Can be obtained through online payment of Rs. 600/- for general candidates and Rs. 100/- for general candidates and Rs. 555/- for SC/ST candidates on the RIMC website www.rimc.gov.in (After receipt of payment, the prospectus cum application form and booklets containing old question papers will be sent through express post only). or

By
sending a cheque. Prospectus cum application form and old examination question booklet can be obtained by sending a written request along with caste certificate in favour of “THE COMMANDANT RIMC FUND” along with a cheque of Rs. 600 for general candidates and Rs. 555 for SC/ST candidates to DRAWEE HDFC BANK, BALLUPUR COWK, DEHRADUN, (Bank Code-1399), Uttarakhand Branch. Address should be clearly typed/written with postal code and contact number in capital letters. RIMC will not be responsible for postal delay due to illegible or incomplete address or loss in transit of brochures. RIMC will not be responsible for postal delay. Please note:

RIMC issued applications are valid. Locally printed or photocopied applications without the RIMC hologram (seal) will not be accepted.

Application fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.

9.
Documents.

Applications should be submitted in duplicate. The mandatory documents that need to be attached with the application form are:

Birth
Certificate (issued by Municipal Corporation/Gram Panchayat).

Resident Certificate of the applicant.

SC
ST Certificate

School Certificate

Copy
of the applicant's Aadhar Card (both sides) is a mandatory requirement and if this is not met, the application will be rejected. Two passport photographs.

Note:- Applications should be received by the respective State Governments by 30th September 2024 (as mentioned in the Admission Guidelines). Please note that applications should be sent to the State Governments and not to the Rashtriya Indian Military University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

10.
Conduct of Examinations by State IUTs. They are requested to make necessary arrangements for conducting the examinations in their respective States. The names of the officers designated to conduct the examinations (including telephone numbers, fax numbers and email addresses) and requests for examination papers may be communicated to the Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun by 10th October 2024. Sufficient information regarding this review should be published in local newspapers in the form of press releases at least two to three times by 20 July 2024.

The answer booklets of the candidates along with the application form will be sent in a sealed envelope at the end of the examination to the Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, PIN-248003.

12.
The oral examination will be conducted by the State Government only for those candidates who have passed the written examination on a date to be announced later. The composition of the Selection Committee is briefly explained in Section 8 of the RIMC Rules and reads as follows:

  • Chief Secretary to the Government or in case the State Government so desires, any other
    Secretary of the State Government nominated by him.
  • Two Military officers. (One of them should not be below the rank of Lt Col or equivalent from
    Army, Air Force or Navy). These officers will be detailed as far as possible from the nearest Military Station and all expenses of TA and DA etc will be borne by the Government of India.
  • The State Director of Public Institutions or Director of Education or some senior officer
    nominated by him.
  • Where practicable, a member of the State Public Service Commission.

13.        The result of the viva-voce must be sent in a sealed envelope to the Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun, immediately after the conduct of viva-voce. The same must also be conveyed by email the same day. The email id is rimc-uk@nic.in.

14.      Medical Examination.           Only the candidates finally selected after the viva-voice only will undergo a Medical Examination at selected Military Hospitals and only the candidates found medically fit will be considered for selection and admission to the RIMC. Candidates should not consider themselves selected until Joining Instruction to this effect is issued and Call Up Notices are sent to them by the College authorities.

15.      Under no circumstances, any candidate or parents/guardians/relatives or friends are permitted to approach any officer in the Service Headquarters or any other person concerned with the selection of the candidates. Any attempt to do so is liable to result in rejection of the candidate.

PRESS RELEASE FOR RIMC ENTRANCE EXAMINATION: DEC 2024
PRESS INFORMATION BUREAU (DEFENCE WING) GOVERNMENT OF INDIA

  1.      The Rashtriya Indian Military College is a Category ‘A’ Training Establishment of the Ministry of Defence. The College was established in 1922 with the primary aim of providing quality all round education.

  2.        Applications are invited from Boys and Girls for admission to Class VIII in the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun (UK) for Jul 2025 Term which will be conducted at specified centres of respective states on 01 Dec 2024 (Sunday).

  3.          Entry Age.       Candidates appearing for the above test should not be less than 111/2 years in age and should not have attained the age of 13 years as on 01 Jul 2025, i.e. they should have been born, not earlier than 02 Jul 2012 and not later than 01 Jan 2014.

  4.        Educational Qualification.       Candidates should either be studying in Class VII or passed Class VII from any recognised school at the time of admission to the RIMC, i.e. on 01 Jul 2025.

  5.     Scheme of Examination. The examination comprises of the following:-

  • Written Examination.    The examination in Mathematics (0930-1100hrs), General Knowledge (1200-1300hrs) and English (1430-1630) shall be conducted on 01 Dec 2024 (Sunday).
  • VivaVoce. The date will be intimated later and will be held for only those candidates who
    qualify in the written exam. Intelligence, personality and communication skills of the candidates will be tested in the viva-voce.
  • Medical Examination.                         All the candidates qualified after viva-voce will undergo a medical
    examination at selected Military Hospitals and only those candidates found medically fit will be considered for selection and admission to the RIMC. The medical examination of the candidates, forms only a part of the selection process and does not imply the final selection.
  • The wards of Central Government employees can take their exam and viva-voce at the place
    of posting of employee/ domicile state. However, their candidature will be considered from their original domicile state. It is therefore mandatory to submit the application in the same state where the exam has to be taken.
  • Viva-voce will be held for only those candidates who pass the written exam. The list will be
    sent to the respective State Governments by RIMC.
  • Results will be updated on RIMC website www.rimc.gov.in. It is the candidate’s responsibility
    to check the status regularly.

  6.      Examination Centers.   Examination centers are generally located in the state capitals or in cities/towns as advertised.

7,     Fee.   The annual fee is Rs. 98650/- for General Candidates and Rs. 81850/- for SC/ST Candidates

except for the first year. The fee structure may be revised periodically. Details of the annual fee for the first year are as under:-
