Disability pension coverage

Years of service – There is no minimum number of years of service. Years of service can vary from 1 day, 1 year, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 30 years, etc.

Authority  – Reg 81, 82, 83 & 95 of PRA 2008  Part -I &   ER and GMO 2023

Reason for discharge – Assisted living not recommended or discharged by IMB (Medical Board/Hospital)

Conditions :

1. You should be willing to continue in service – in case of Sheltered appointment.

2. Disability assessed by RMB  may be any amount.  No minimum %.    1%  or 0.00001% etc. ( Nil for life- Not accepted)

3. Disability must be Attributable / Aggravated by military service

Applicability of Invalid Pension 

Cause of Discharge –  Sheltered appointment not recommended  or  Boarded out through  IMB (Medical board/Hospital)

If your Disability is NA NA and remaining Criteria as above (No minimum % of disability required) 

You will get Invalid Pension

Other Conditions for Invalid Pension 

1.  Minimum 10 Years Service  – in General 
2.  If Less than 10 Years Service – Disability should be fully unfit for Civil & Military Service ( incapacitated)

Pensionary Benefit for Sheltered Appointment Unwilling and Discharge at Own Request cases after July 2024.

Length of Service – 15   Years or More – 

Auth – ER  & GMO 2023

Disability assessed by RMB  – Minimum 20% 

Disability –  Attributable  / Aggravated

If your service is Less than 15 Years  Remaining same

Disability assessed by RMB  – Minimum 20% 

Disability –  Attributable  / Aggravated

What will you get ?

• Impairment Relief 
• No Service pension / No Service element

If your Disability is NA NA in above case 

You will get no pension – No disability benefit.

For Discharge with Coloured service / Superannuation 

Auth – Reg 81, 82, 95 of PRA 2008  & ER and  GMO 2023

Disability attributable or aggravated by military service

Disability assessed by RMB – Min 20%

f your Disability is Not attributable and Not aggravated by military service (NA NA)

You will get no disability related benefit.
