Recruitment of Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks (OR) in the Indian Army has gone online.
The Army will invite only online applications at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in for JCOs/OR. As the open recruitment rally system has been scrapped, candidates have to first apply online, after which they will be called for a regular rally, Brigadier Rajamani said here on Wednesday. Candidates can check their eligibility on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in and apply online for the chosen/eligible career options.

The new army website was launched on June 16. For online applications, candidates are advised to carry education qualification certificates, including the matriculation certificate, personal details, including the permanent address with the PIN number and the verification/ domicile certificate. Candidates must also have a personal, valid email ID, a personal mobile number and a recently taken passport-size photograph, Rajamani added.

He said the directorate had a detailed discussion with the chief secretary of Karnataka to help rural candidates to apply online through their machineries. The website can be opened in any personal computer/ tablet with Internet facility.

The applications can be uploaded for the State of Karnataka from August 6, 2015, wherein the candidates from Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, Dakshina Kannada, Davangere, Vijayapura, Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag and Bagalkot districts.

For the rest of the districts, candidates are requested to be updated from the zonal recruiting office Bengaluru link of www.joinindianarmy.nic.in

Brigadier Rajamani explained that the new system was the best way to attract best talent from Karnataka to the Army. The next rally is from October 6.

The Bengaluru police went in for online recruitment three years ago when applicants were asked to register online first, after which exams and interviews were scheduled.
